Prepaid subscribers represent the largest potential customer base for most operators. To ensure that each subscriber has the maximum ability to recharge any amount, anytime, using different access technologies means more revenue for the operators. Therefore, operators need to provide subscribers with the ability to recharge their prepaid account with the desired amount whenever they want.

To answer this specific need, EVISTEL has developed the Street Seller.

EVISTEL Street Seller is an electronic recharging system (eTopUp) for prepaid customers, allowing prepaid customers to easily recharge their prepaid mobile account. The Street Seller enables operators to multiply points of sales, to optimize and control credit distribution as well as to extend the current scratch cards system.

The Customer provides the Retail with a mobile phone number and the required amount. The retail keys the consumer's mobile number with the top up amount and collects the payment from the subscriber. The terminal (mobile handset, laptop, Verifone terminal, PC…) sends a request to top-up the mobile account. The topUp server authenticates the terminal, its credit limit and credit usage. Then, the topUp server requests to top-up the customer account from the prepaid system.


The Street Seller has been designed according to the following key ideas and requirements:

- the Street Seller is a complete solution: for retailers to customers credit recharge, for distribution chain management as well as for commissioning and credit transfer.
- a Web based interface is provided to easily configure the system.
- the eTopup can be done using USSD, Web, POS, Mobile Java, SMS, STK and IVR.
- versatile billing support with numerous interfaces: Oracle financial, 3GPP, DIAMETER and payment gateway integration
- distribution management: embedded commission rates and taxes are supported...
- traffic management: load balancing and extended query configuration.


The Street Seller is based on the DASP (Data Service Platform), the EVISTEL carrier grade service platform which is fully compatible with open market standards such as 3GPP, ETSI, GSM, ANSI IETF and OMA standards.

The Street Seller solution is part of the EVISTEL USSD Center which offers:
- USSD account management: credit inquiry, credit transfer, third party credit inquiry, credit recharge...
- USSD Services: self-care, call me Back, push/pull services...
