Instead of relying on Store & Forward, the SMS eXchanger relies on a three layer architecture with intelligent traffic management: enhanced routing capabilities, charging and services. The Store & Forward functionality only occurs when needed.
The SMS eXchanger is currently the only worldwide available complete SMS solution managing services, charging and SMS traffic handling.



The SMS eXchanger has been conceived and designed according to the following key ideas and requirements:

- The SMS eXchanger shall be the alternative to multiple compact SMSCs topologies by providing traditional SMSC features plus advanced SMS features.
- Improved Quality of Service and SMS delivery: One Shot Delivery, SMS rescuing...
- Advanced routing features shall be offered: load distribution, traffic limitation and protocol translation.
- Real-time rating and charging shall be performed according to basic and enhanced charging models.
- Modular solution and rapid integration of new services (Open Service Builder)
- Compatible with all interfaces and protocols: SS7, UCP, SMPP...
- SMS control is provided: SMS anti-spamming, white and black lists, throughput controls...
- The solution shall be rapidly deployed and easily integrated into the existing infrastructure.


The SMS eXchanger is based on the DASP (Data Service Platform), the EVISTEL carrier grade service platform which is fully compliant with open market standards such as 3GPP, ETSI, GSM, ANSI IETF and OMA standards.
