Would you like to be more independent?
The telecommunications sector is becoming an increasingly competitive market with the multiplication of available services and the increase in churn rates. With enhanced handsets and technologies, mobile subscribers now demand access to various and sophisticated services. Moreover, network operators are currently facing the segmentation of the market with the need to target every customer with dedicated services.
To help network operators face these new challenges, EVISTEL has developed and launched the Open Service Builder (OSB). The EVISTEL Open Service Builder provides network operators with a high reactivity for the creation of new services or for the modification of existing ones.
The Open Service Builder allows operators to autonomously and rapidly launch and modify their own services hence gaining in flexibility and time to market.
The OSB is a user-friendly web-based graphical tool allowing fast and easy Value Added Services deployment which can be adapted and customised for each type of subscriber.
The development of the Open Service Builder is based on the following key ideas and requirements:
- services shall be easily and quickly created and modified. Example of services: Credit Inquiry, Credit Recharge, Third Party Credit Inquiry Service, Credit Transfer, Call Me Back, Activation services, Televoting, Games...
- services shall be bearer independent: any service can be reached with any bearer (voice, web/WAP, IP, SMS, USSD...) and any bearer or any mix of bearers can be used to deliver the service. For example, a Credit Inquiry service can be implemented via USSD, SMS, voice, or Wap... according to subscribers' profiles.
- operator shall define rating and charging models according to the created services, the subscriber's profile, date and time...
- services shall reuse the network infrastructure resources so that the implementation does not require any additional investment.
Benefits for operators:
- flexible, scalable and easy to use platform that integrates into legacy networks reusing all network nodes and capabilities to provide services
- there is no limitation in services creation and the service description is close to the user experience.
- thanks to the graphical representation of the service, network operators get an immediate understanding of the service.
- gain in flexibility and responsiveness to the market
- the Open Service Builder can be implemented for any service, any bearer (USSD, SMS, Voice...), any service logic, any charging type, any application type (messaging, self-care...).
